The good news is that in 4 months I get a .50 raise and I get my benefits!! (Full Medical, Dental, Rx, and Vision coverage!) I also love that me being one of the few women and one of the ONLY young women working there, I get all kinds of attention. I find it funny that people know me that don't even work in the same area as I do and I've never met them before. I'll have guys come up to me and say "Hi, your name is Megan right?" or "this is your 3rd week here right?" How people know these things I'm not sure but its still fun! Another up side at UPS is that My Supervisor likes me and says that I'm a fast learner and I'm doing very well. He has me teamed up with probably the best employee on the belt, Chris. He and I pull, scan and load for the containers of the heaviest volume.
The Bad News: I'm so incredibly dirt when I get home... and I can never wear shorts because my legs are always bruised up. Another bad thing is that the Union I work for requires initiation fees for the first 3 &1/2 months I work here. Its $25 out of each pay check and I get paid once a week. So I miss out on $100 a month =( not so great, but it will be over soon. Another down here is that Chris, the guy I'm partnered up with, refuses to make nice or be friends. In general he wont talk to me. So I'm guessing he either hates me or he likes me... whatever, it still bothers me.
Anyways, thats the up date on UPS. All is well so far and I'm enjoying my job despite the down parts. These are pictures of how dirty I can be after a night of work. Just look at my Hands!!!
